Discussion Summary: Culturally Competent Care & LGBTQ+ Communities

connecting conversations

It has been 20 years since the CDC supported some of the first national trainings in culturally competent care for LGBTQ+ patients. Today, trainings are widely available to healthcare professionals. In January, Eidos hosted a panel discussion on cultural competency featuring Kellan Baker, PhD, Executive Director of the Whitman-Walker Institute; Gaurang Choksi, CEO and Founder of Violet; and researcher David (Hyunmin) Yu, MSN, RN, CRNP. A summary of their wide-ranging discussion is now available online. Explore how cultural competency shows up across sectors and discover next steps toward strengthening competent care.
